**Health and Safety Officer**

As a result of our continued growth and $1 billion work-in-hand, Georgiou is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join us as we deliver the main construction contract for the Newell Highway upgrade, Parkes Bypass ($115 million). The project involves relocating the highway two kilometres west of Parkes for a total length of 10.5km's, along with the construction of two new bridges, new intersections and a four-way roundabout. Once delivered, the project is set to reduce travel time, improve freight productivity and safety along a vital transport corridor in New South Wales.
This role will assists our diverse project teams to implement Georgiou's safety culture while continuing to maintain the high standard of safety management policies and procedures in place. Your key duties consist of:

- Identify project risks, monitor safe and at-risk behaviours as well as develop SWMS and complete Task Hazard Review Cards and Permit to Work Forms
- Assisting in toolbox talks, pre-start contents and setting up KPIs to ensure Project teams are adequately trained to perform their health and safety responsibilities
- Create and enter basic reports into the HSEQ System as well as Explain Health & Safety contractual/legal requirements of subcontractors on site
- Motivate line managers and supervisors in H&S leadership through the support and transfer of skills and knowledge

**What you're good at**:
Aside from having relevant experience in a previous Safety Admin/coordination role with working knowledge ideally within the civil construction industry and Chain of Responsibility requirements, you are a dynamic communicator who can build a strong relationship with project stakeholders at all levels. It is desirable (not compulsory) if you have the knowledge of:

- Workplace Health, Safety and Environment Act & Regulations (AS/NZS 4801 & ISO 14001)
- Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act
