Australia Racham Care Support Services Full time

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated casual **Support Worker** to join our team and provide personalised care to a participant in Newport QLD 4020. The primary focus of this role is to assist with a prescribed stretching and mobility program to help manage muscular pain and improve range of motion.

**We are looking for someone**:

- Available **weekly**, 2 hours per shift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Provide stretching support**: You will be responsible for following a specific stretching plan developed by a physiotherapist or other healthcare professional. This will involve assisting the participant with gentle, controlled movements and stretches to their right side to reduce muscle stiffness and pain.
- **Encourage mobility**: You will support the participant in mobility exercises and activities, helping them to maintain or improve their physical function and independence.
- **Observe and report**: You will need to carefully observe the participant during all activities, paying close attention to their comfort level, any signs of pain or distress, and any changes in their mobility. You will be responsible for accurately documenting progress and any concerns.
- **Foster a positive environment**: You will build a trusting and supportive relationship with the participant, encouraging their active participation and making the stretching sessions a positive and comfortable experience.

**Requirements**:

- Experience as a Support Worker or in a similar caregiving role is essential.
- Understanding of the principles of stretching and mobility exercises. Previous experience working with individuals with neurological conditions is a significant plus.
- Ability to follow a detailed care plan and adapt to the participant's needs on a day-to-day basis.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and observation skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the participant's needs.
- Valid **NDIS Worker Screening Card** / Yellow Card (or willingness to obtain)
