Role:Mainframe Security Consultant
Location:Canberra (onsite preferred, with some flexibility for remote work)
Duration:2 months, highly likely to extend
Our Client is seeking ahighly experienced Mainframe Security Consultantto provide specialist expertise for a strategic migration review to new security software on Z. This is a short-term engagement for a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of mainframe environments, security frameworks, and software migration strategies.
Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensiveMigration Strategy Reviewfor mainframe security.
Assess current environment and identifymigration opportunities and risks.
Provideexpert guidanceon best practices for migration to enhanced mainframe security solutions.
Produceclear recommendations and documentationto support the client's security posture across mainframe systems.
Mandatory Requirements
Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance(minimum)
20+ years of experiencein mainframe security with proven expertise in Z environments
Demonstrated track record insecurity software assessments and migrations
Desired Skills & Attributes
Deep subject-matter expertise inmainframe securityand related toolsets
Strong advisory, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently while providingstrategic, outcomes-focused recommendations
