**About the role**:In this role you will**:

- Lead planning and project teams across Queensland to ensure effective service delivery, business improvement, and policy implementation.
- Coordinate, represent and lead the department's input into major projects, Environmental Impact Assessments, local and regional planning instruments and development assessment to ensure impacts on natural resources are considered.
- Deliver high-quality policy and planning advice under Queensland's Planning Framework.
- Assist where required in the naming of geographical features and localities (also known as suburbs) in Queensland.
- Prepare submissions, briefs, and contribute to legislation, policy, and guideline development.
- Advise, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders, teams, and agencies.
- Manage projects and deliver milestones.

**What we're looking for**:

- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, strong analytical and problemsolving ability, and experience managing multiple complex projects and leading a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary team.
- A Degree qualification relevant to Natural Resource and Land Use Planning and Management or agreed equivalent
- Experience with the Planning Act 2016, State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 and Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Place Names Act 1994 or other related legislation is highly regarded.
- Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.
- Current C class driver's licence is highly desirable.
