**The Role**:
The Planning Analyst role assists and supports the Merchandise Planner in the achievement of budgeted sales, gross profit and inventory productivity measures. Reporting to the Planner, it's a broad inventory-based role where you will get the opportunity to directly influence our profitability through data-based decision making. The role will be involved in:

- Core line management.
- Allocation support.
- Inventory management and control.

**The role & responsibilities**:

- Building and producing reports.
- Conducting analysis and making recommendations.
- Core Line forecasting and purchase planning.
- Managing inter store transfers (consolidations).
- Supporting the allocation process through guiding and coaching the Allocator.
- Markdown modelling.
- Managing the inventory outcomes of the new store opening process.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand data and analytics and make recommendations as a result.
- Product forecasting experience.
- Proven ability to manage inventory through prior analytical/commercial role with a good understanding of merchandise inventory basics.
- Ability to take a proactive approach and think strategically.
- Advanced excel skills with the ability to champion excel based projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
