QuantumSensing

Description

Nomad Atomics is on a mission to make the broad uptake of quantum sensing a reality and simultaneously push the limits of our field beyond what we think is possible. We are building the world's most advanced fit-for-purpose quantum sensors to allow us to see the world like never before.

Our team is made up of leaders in the quantum sensing field. We believe the time for commercial quantum sensing has come, and we are determined with making it happen.

We are growing here at Nomad Atomics - FAST. We are searching for people who want to finally take the commercial sensing game into the modern era of technology.

Who You are:
You are a quick learner, a problem solver, and a doer. You have experience in surveying techniques such as levelling and positioning and are keen to expand your skillset into new and emerging technologies.

The success of our quantum sensing method relies on the quality of our survey data. You understand the importance of planning and executing surveys with care and attention to detail. You are excited to play a key role in testing, maintenance, and contract fulfillment with our sensors in a variety of settings and locations. From the city streets to the outback, you are ready to hit the ground running.

You are happy to work independently or within a small field team but are keen to interact with the geophysical and tech teams on operations and development. As you will be in the field on a daily or very regular basis, you will play a key role in helping us to improve our techniques, methods, and efficiency.

Your role:
You will be based in Sydney for daily field work, with several days to month-long trips to Melbourne and regional Australia. Working closely with the geophysics team, you'll be responsible for field surveying at Nomad Atomics. This is an exceptionally hands on role requiring a broad skill set, including maintaining cutting-edge, high-tech equipment to produce the highest quality data in a range on conditions. This is a physically demanding role requiring long periods of standing, walking and/or driving a vehicle in all weather conditions, in urban and regional settings. You will be responsible for collecting high-quality survey data while maintaining the highest safety standard.

You will be engaged in daily tasks like:

- Data acquisition; acquiring geophysical data as an individual and part of a team.
- Data acquisition on the surface and underground environments.
- Implement and champion the company HSEC&Q policies and system.
- Maintain field equipment.
- Assist with field survey planning.
- Mobilise and demobilise equipment.
- Work with hardware development teams to develop and maintain testing procedures for gravity equipment.
- Regular interstate travel.

**Requirements**:
Your skills:

- No formal qualifications necessary, but you have prior experience in surveying.
- The ability to promptly solve tough problems, to handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, and IT fluency.
- Comfortable working alone or with a partner / small team.
- Flexible with your routine
- you are happy to adapt to a changing schedule and environment.

**Benefits**

The nuts and bolts:
This role is a full-time 1-year contract based in Sydney, Australia. You will be required to travel to our HQ in Melbourne, and for short to month-long trips across Australia. You must be legally able to work and live in Australia.
- Extensive travel may be required (days long, up to one month).
- Must be fully licensed to drive a motor vehicle in Australia with a clean driving record and criminal history.
- Already have or willing to obtain certifications (advanced first aid, operating a 4WD, operating off-terrain vehicles, etc.).
- You can meet the physical demands of the field position including standing, bending, walking and driving for extended periods of time.
- You are willing to work irregular hours depending on environmental conditions and survey situation.

We offer a competitive salary and an opportunity for hands-on experience using a wide variety of instrumentation (and a few adventures). If this position sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out, we are looking forward to meeting you.
