Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.The UGL New Energy team is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer - Solar to join our energy team.
UGL promotes diversity and alternative ways of working, including part-time.About The Position On OfferAs part of your role, you will oversee the conceptual and detailed engineering of the Solar project.
This involves developing specifications and collaborating with management to address any engineering concerns that may arise.Your Duties And Responsibilities Will IncludePlanning and conducting professional engineering work without direct supervision.Consult, recommend, and advise on specialist engineering areasSupervise and co-ordinate multi-disciplined design activities.Control and manage technical interfaces between disciplines, with equipment suppliers and subcontractors.Assist in the preparation of the forecast and the constructability of projects.Supervise commissioning activities with the site commissioning teamsYour Skills And ExperienceBachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.Extensive experience in Solar PV Engineering, with a strong background in utility-scale solar projects up to 100MW.Skilled in PVSyst, Cymcap, PVCase, RatedPower PV DesignStrong analytical thinking, effective problem-solving, and clear communication.Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, manage multiple projects, and maintain a strategic focus.Open to travel for site-based work as needed.Please note that relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
