**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Council's Community and Culture directorate focuses on the delivery of key customer-based services across the Cumberland City Area including community development, events and culture, education and care, libraries, seniors and disability, children and youth services.

The Libraries team operate eight (8) locations across the Cumberland LGA and assist customers and members of the public with locating materials, answering questions and providing guidance on research strategies. The team also hold a wide variety of events across these locations, ranging from educational and cultural programs to social and community-building activities.

The Home Library Services Assistant is responsible for delivering resources to customers in their home, nursing homes and hospitals across Cumberland City Council using Council's Home Library van. This position will assist with the daily delivery and processing of materials between branches and other locations and will sort, pack and load materials into the Library van. You will also actively participate with the running of library activities including shelving, restocking and rotating displays and assisting customers to access library resources.

The successful applicant will require:

- Year 12 Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent
- Experience in a library or similar customer service environment
- Class C Driver's License
- Working with Children Check
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to safely and efficiently perform heavy lifting, loading and unloading activities
- Ability to prioritise tasks and problem solving
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Understanding of the needs of older people and people with a disability
- Demonstrated computer skills and willingness to assist with information technology and trouble shooting ability.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, part-time position, working Monday to Friday across a 56 hour fortnight starting at 8:30am for 5 hours minimum each day.

This role is predominantly located at Council's Auburn library, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 5 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,083.75 to $1,246.31 per week (full-time equivalent), plus 11% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
