About The Role
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for highly motivated Electrical Technicians who are interested in moving to Newman and joining our Newman Operations residential teams (lifestyle roster, 4 days on, 5 off, 5 nights on, 4 off, 5 days on, 5 off).
Relocation assistance and/or housing subsidies provided.
Newman Operations is part of Western Australian Iron Ore and consists of two mining sites in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on the traditional lands of the Nylyaparli people.

In your role your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Overriding commitment to BHP Billiton Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development;
Maintain all areas of equipment including commissioning, fault finding and repair;
Adhere to specific maintenance processes as defined;
Work effectively with other maintenance and production team members, including contractors, to better understand and manage equipment maintenance and resolve problems impacting on both areas;
Facilitate and complete "Whole of Job Function", which includes pre work, preparation of JHA's, Take 5's and/or Work Instructions, organise materials, execution, test-out, hand-back and sign-off of work orders;
Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed;
Undertake all inspections of equipment and maintenance tools;
Prioritise efforts to reduce breakdown, urgent or interrupt work which disturbs planned and scheduled work;
Accept a high level of ownership of Maintenance activities and equipment;
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
Undertake housekeeping and safety inspections;
Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs that result in higher levels of plant and equipment performance;
Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes.

About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
Australia recognised trade qualification – A grade Electrical License
Current Australian C class manual drivers licence
Well-developed understanding of the operation and maintenance of Fixed Plant equipment
Strong experience with an HV Operator competency/appointment.
(Highly regarded)
Technical knowledge of PLCs (AB), VVVFs (Siemens / ABB), networks, instrumentation, HV/LV motors and Citect systems (Highly regarded)
Experience troubleshooting electrical, control and hydraulic systems.
EWP, Confined Space, Working at Heights Certificates (Desirable)
