Our client, a well-established gold exploration and production company, is seeking Core Logging Geologist(s) for a short-term FIFO contract at their underground operation in the WA Goldfields.
Working an 8 / 6 roster , you'll focus on diamond core logging in the core yard , supporting active underground drilling programs.
Prior underground gold experience will be highly regarded.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Geology .
Experience with geological logging software.
Understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems.
Safety-conscious approach with a strong field compliance record.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Physically able to meet the inherent requirements of the role.
Willing to work on a remote site on a rotation-based schedule (FIFO 8 / 6).
Position Duties :
Log resource-definition diamond core to standards set by the Senior Geologist (target =100 m / day).
Record visual logs, including mineral identification, alteration, structures and relevant geotechnical observations.
Enter and validate data in company systems (e.g. Geobank).
Follow sampling procedures and QA / QC protocols.
Collaborate with the mine geology team to progress project objectives.
Assist with evaluation and reporting of geological data; attend meetings as required.
