This position works in collaboration with other staff to ensure safe, efficient and effective personal care
of the residents of St Pauls in accordance with contemporary quality standards.
The position is accountable for:

- providing care as documented on the care plans, including physical, social and emotional support
- Completing concise, timely and accurate records of care delivered and the individual's responses by completing daily forms, ACFI assessments and other assessments as required.
- Ensuring dignity, respect and choices of the residents are applied and put into practice ensuring the privacy, confidentiality and rights of residents is maintained.
- Demonstrating responsibility for care practices.
- Practicing in accordance with the scope of practice at all times.
- Participating in staff development and completing all mandatory training as allocated.
- Participating in ongoing competency assessments to ensure skills can be demonstrated and evaluated.
- Following Policies and Procedures for all care provided.
- Reporting to their Enrolled Nurse Supervisor or Registered Nurse any changes to a resident's health care needs that are not consistent with their care plan.
- Reporting any potential incidents immediately to their Supervising Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse that may require as Serious Incident Reporting Scheme (SIRS) report.
- Following the guidelines of Antimicrobial Stewardship in all of their daily care.
- Direct personal care - Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including: bathing, showering, personal hygiene, and grooming toileting/continence management, mealtime assistance maintenance of mobility/dexterity (including transfer/lifting, mechanical aids) communication/assistance with aids
- Information reporting and recording including changes in resident health status, social and emotional care needs
- Distribution of clean laundry/personal attire
- Cleaning of equipment, aides, utensils in work area (including personal possessions)
- Cleanliness and neatness of resident's room and their environment
- Bed making as per room scheduling and policy and procedure.
- Transportation of residents between units to and from internal and external appointments

Essential Knowledge and Skill Criteria
- Certificate III in aged or disability care or similar
- Demonstrated competence in caring practice
- Relevant experience
- Demonstrated people and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and management
- Time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexibly depending on the day to day needs of the facility
- An understanding and empathy for the needs and experiences of people with physical, mental, age related and/or emotional challenges
- Current and clear Police Check
- Current Flu Vaccination and COVID Vaccination
