**Seeking an experienced Counsellor to provide counselling support services to clients at the immigration detention centre clinic located in Villawood, NSW.**

**The Role**:
The counsellor will provide counselling services in the Immigration Detention Facility based in Villawood through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions. Key responsibilities:

- Facilitate group sessions on a diverse range of mental health topics
- Provide health promotion education and activities
- Provide assessment, counselling and casework services including support and referral services
- Help to organise excursions or other activities of a pro-active nature that will help with the well-being of the population
- Ensure that documentation is accurate, precise and concise

**Requirements**:

- Full working rights in Australia
- Relevant qualifications and or experience in counselling, social welfare, education or social sciences
- 3 years proven experience in the delivery of counselling services, case management and case coordination in mental health setting
- Experience working in AoD areas or with individuals with AoD issues highly desirable
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid Certificate
