Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in neural network architecture design and optimisation for constrained devices, with experience in edge AI frameworks and familiarity with embedded systems, bare-metal programming, and real-time operating systems.
You will be responsible for architecting and implementing deep learning models optimised for low-power, edge-based deployment, collaborating with hardware and firmware teams to integrate and deploy ML/Computer Vision models onto microcontrollers and custom processing units, and contributing to internal tooling, pipelines, and best practices for model training, evaluation, and deployment.
As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate intelligent capabilities into next generation sensing products, designing and architecting neural networks for deployment from scratch, ensuring they are optimised and run efficiently on edge devices and embedded hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement deep learning models optimised for low-power, edge-based deployment.
Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate and deploy ML/Computer Vision models onto microcontrollers and custom processing units.
Write production-quality code in Python, with some C/C++ being ideal for the embedded integration.
Contribute to internal tooling, pipelines, and best practices for model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Requirements
Masters/PhD or equivalent industry experience in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Embedded AI/Systems.
Strong foundation in neural network architecture design and optimisation for constrained devices.
Experience with edge AI frameworks, as well as familiarity with embedded systems, bare-metal programming, and real-time operating systems.
Proven track record deploying ML models into complex, real-world products.
Experience integrating ML within full hardware/software stacks.
Uphold high standards for code quality, maintainability, and reproducibility through rigorous code reviews.
This is a hands-on, highly technical role that requires a strong passion for innovation and a willingness to push boundaries in the field of machine learning.
