Northern Health is located in Melbourne's rapidly growing northern suburbs and provides acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, and home-based services across five main campuses with mental health services in several locations.
About the Role: The growing strain on emergency departments has led to innovative approaches in patient assessment and care management.
Northern Health pioneered a virtual care model that uses video technology to provide efficient emergency care.
In 2022 this transitioned to a state-wide service now seeing over 800 patients per day through self-referral and health care professional pathways such as Ambulance Victoria, Urgent Care Centre and Residential Aged Care Facilities.
The VVED role is part of the casual workforce.
Responsibilities
Practice Evidence-Based Medicine: Apply the latest evidence-based medical practices in a supportive environment.
Multi-Disciplinary Support: Collaborate with a diverse team of medical professionals.
Emphasis on Alternative Treatment: Manage patients using innovative treatment options.
Expand Your Horizons: Understand referral pathways and community-based services beyond your local area.
To be successful in this role you will have
Experience in delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
Experience in Residential In-Reach
Experience in Palliative Care
Ability to be agile using technology to provide medical support to patients and families
Demonstrated a collaborative approach to patient care
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
