The Organisation
The National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) is a community of 18 national Christian Churches, united in faith and working together for justice, peace and hope in the land now called Australia. Our Secretariat supports the President, Board and General Secretary in advancing this mission through dialogue, advocacy, prayer and practical action.
The Role
We are now seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to join our small, committed team. This role is central to the strength and sustainability of our work. You'll bring clarity and care to our finances, ensuring we can continue to serve our member churches and wider community with integrity.
As Finance & Administration Officer, you will:
Prepare, monitor and report on budgets, helping us steward resources responsibly.
Manage, interrogate and analyse accounts, providing insight to support decision-making.
Work closely with the General Secretary and Honorary Treasurer to provide clear reports to the Board.
Oversee and manage external financial service providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support our team in areas including HR, IT, insurances, risk management and office systems.
Build strong relationships with colleagues, volunteers and church leaders, offering professional and practical support.
About You
This role will suit someone who combines financial skill with a heart for service. You will bring:
Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline.
Experience in preparing, managing and reporting on budgets.
Confidence in analysing accounts and explaining them clearly to others.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with an eye for detail.
Experience managing external providers and ensuring compliance.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully across diverse communities.
A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work collaboratively.
A commitment to the Christian mission and values of the NCCA.
This is a role where financial stewardship meets faith, and where your skills will help support unity and hope across the churches of Australia.
