Port Adelaide/ Semaphore Salvos has begun a playgroup to support the social and spiritual development of preschool children. We are also building relationships with their families.

The role of volunteer Playgroup Team Assistant provides support and assistance to the Playgroup Team Leader in developing, implementing and facilitating children's ministry and programs, as well as providing companionship, care, and support.
- Key volunteer responsibilities:

- Set up rooms and pack up on completion
- Welcome children, parents/carers and help create a friendly and fun environment
- Interact & provide companionship to parents and/or carers
- Encourage participation
- Play and interact with children
- Prepare tea and coffee for the parents, serve refreshments to the children
- Report to manager any health / safety concerns
- Volunteers are required to be over 14 years of age
- Volunteers in this role will need to have their details recorded, background checks finalised and required training completed before commencement
