**About the role**

Based in the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) and reporting to the Head of Fleet Control within the Operations group, the Manager Fleet Control is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fleet rostering and operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of the Daily Service Plan. The role also focuses on monitoring and enhancing service performance while ensuring consistent compliance with rail safety standards and operational policies.
- Key accountabilities include_:

- Provide leadership and operational oversight of Fleet Control functions at the IOC, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with safety, service, and compliance standards.
- Oversee day-to-day fleet planning, rostering, and resource allocation, including yard operations, rolling stock availability, and ancillary activities such as washing, fuelling, and maintenance transfers.
- Ensure effective fleet deployment and coordination during both planned and unplanned service disruptions, maintaining continuity of service and operational readiness under pressure.
- Monitor and improve service performance by identifying operational risks and implementing strategies to enhance on-time delivery and resource utilisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including maintenance providers, asset management, and project partners, to support seamless fleet operations.
- Contribute to business planning, resource forecasting, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that support long-term fleet strategy and organisational goals.

**About you**

You will have a proven track record of leading diverse teams in customer-focused rail environments, with a collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style. Experience in fleet management and maintenance is highly desirable.
- A collaborative leadership style that drives operational planning and successfully manages strategic change.
- Proven experience working within industrial and unionised environments, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and unite diverse groups toward shared objectives.
- Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a strategic mindset.
- High emotional intelligence, enabling effective collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
