**Role Description/Criteria**

Commitment to Child Safety

At St Catherine of Siena we strive to maintain a child safe environment where each child feels safe and free to enjoy the day to the full without any concern for their safety. The wellbeing of all children in our care will always be our first priority and we have no tolerance for child abuse.

Position

The successful applicant will be a highly skilled classroom practitioner with the ability to provide appropriate and engaging learning experiences which motivate children in the acquisition of an additional language. They should also have the interpersonal skills to work with others in the specialist team in an environment of ongoing improvement and self-reflection.

Applicants should:

- have a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
- display exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity to engage students in a rich learning environment
- have a deep knowledge of The LoTE curriculum and an ability to engage children in a range of creative activities to develop their skills in an additional language
- have and consistently utilise strong behaviour management practices
- enjoy working with a diverse group of students from a range of backgrounds and have knowledge of EAL best practise

The successful applicant needs to:

- be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
- be an experienced teacher with experience teaching LoTE
- be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or agree to commence this within the next few years
- be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
- have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct
- hold a VIT registration
