***Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located within the Department of Neonatal Services at Nepean Hospital.
Successful applicants will provide an accountable and high standard of patient care in Ophthalmology services as required for NICU/SCN patients. Applicants will be dedicated to a teamwork philosophy and be able to demonstrate ability to work as a team member within the NICU/SCN multidisciplinary health care team.
The number of sessions will be according to clinical demand, and it is anticipated that the time commitment will be approx. 4 hours per week on a roster consisting of two other Paediatric Ophthalmologist.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

**Selection Criteria**
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology (RANZCO) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge in NICU/SCN Ophthalmology including screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) both in person and by reviewing remote wide field photography (e.g., RetCam) images, and treatment of ROP including Intravitreal injections and laser photocoagulation demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to NICU/SCN Ophthalmology.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
- Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014
