- About the Role We are looking for a Purchasing and Sourcing Lead where you will support in sourcing initiatives, cost optimisation and process improvement. About The Role
You will join a wider team lead by our Purchasing Manager, with your focus being on identifying and leading sourcing initiatives and identifying opportunities for process improvement. A key component of this role will also be managing suppliers, clients and stakeholder relationships, as well as assisting the Purchasing Manager with operational & project requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing sourcing strategies and leading sourcing projects.- Negotiating agreements with suppliers to ensure continuity of essential supplies.- Driving supplier relationship management, contract, performance, and risk management.- Identifying cost saving opportunities, making recommendations, and leading projects where appropriate.- Assisting Purchasing Manager and the broader supply chain team in driving of functional change, continuous improvement and implementation of new processes or initiatives.- Identifying potential business issues and/or supply constraints and working with appropriate teams to develop recovery plans.- Coordinating with purchasing team members to conduct periodically review of departmental procedures and work instructions to ensure they are relevant to current processes.- Managing material replenishment and ensuring purchase orders are up to date in ERP system.
About You- Experience in procurement/sourcing or supply chain operations, ideally within a similar industry such as telecommunications or utilities.- Experience as a second in charge or support to the manager would be highly desirable, or someone with experience in the function and ready for the next step in their career.- Well-developed written and verbal communications skills.- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.- Practical experience with ERP systems and MS office suite.- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management would be highly desirable.
