Brisbane CBD |Hybrid?? 6 months contract - High possibility of extension?? Market rate + Super We're working with a large QLD Government department on a major digital transformation program.
As part of this, there's an urgent need for a Lead Node.js API Developer to play a pivotal role in building out a new Whole-of-Government Graph API integration platform.
?? Key Responsibilities: ? Lead the engineering of a central API platform using Node.js, GraphQL, and Apollo Federation? Drive the delivery of a unified API gateway and integration framework? Build and manage scalable, secure microservices in a federated architecture? Champion API governance, lifecycle management, and secure identity practices (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, ABAC)? Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams in an Agile/DevSecOps environment ? Requirements ?Strong Node.js development with TypeScript and REST/GraphQL servicesDeep GraphQL experience – particularly with Apollo Server/FederationExperience designing API contracts across multiple backendsAPI security practices – OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, fine-grained access controlExposure to event-driven architecture (publish/subscribe models)Test automation and CI/CD via GitHubCloud stack experience: AWS (containers, serverless)Tools: Jira, Confluence ??
