This government department has a significant influence on a range of important social aspects of society, ultimately delivering stability, support and increasing productivity. Within this fast-passing department there is a current need for a proficient APS6 Policy Officer with strong writing skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment to deliver a positive impact on a range of social matters within the community.

**Your new role**

The role will provide support to the department to deliver specific outcomes in relation to the policy framework and responding to current market trends, in tail, will enhance the security and wellbeing of individuals. Within this, the government department liaises with three ministers in a fast-paced, high-volume workflow environment. This role will require the preparation of briefs, collating information from media releases and responses, policy analysis, management of programs and preparation of key event briefs. In light of this strong policy, writing skills are highly desirable.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with fantastic policy and written skills. As well as this, you will portray:

- Government writing, including the ability to develop high level briefs and general correspondence.
- The ability to break down and assess complex work processes.
- The ability to effectively negotiate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage effective working relationships with internal staff, senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Capability to produce quality outcomes in a fast-paced work environment.
