Position Purpose
To lead quality, compliance, safeguarding and people development. The position guides the provision of high-quality accredited services. It supports people with a disability and is the pivotal lead in implementing the requirements under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission, DFFH and TAC. Provide people development support, including day-to-day training in line with organisational strategic planning.
This position manages a specialist team which is critical in leading quality and practice to deliver on Disability Practice Standards.
Key Accountabilities of the Role
- Manage Risk and Compliance and oversee quality accreditation processes for disability.
- Lead and make recommendations about continuous improvements for quality and compliance.
- Ensure targets and reporting requirements are met.
- In collaboration with Directors, Regional Directors and Operations Managers make decisions about implementing legislation, funding requirements, contracts and other practice changes while understanding the individual needs of our clients.
- Liaise with Managers on audit recommendations ensuring action plans are developed and implemented.
- Contribute to the identification and management of risk management plans.
- Monitor reports and collate quality, compliance and safeguarding requirements.
- Monitor and report critical incidents and restrictive practices to external bodies.
- Work with Operations Managers, regulatory bodies to ensure the implementation of positive behaviour support plans.
- Work collaboratively to meet agreed outcomes.
- Provide input on strategy and assist with research and preparation of tenders, reports or others.
- Collect and collate data to respond to internal and external requests for information and investigations.
- Support managers to undertake regular service reviews and develop strategies to enhance service provision.
- Undertake analysis on quality and compliance within the sector to provide advice on relevant policy issues/directions.
- Provide a high level of advice regarding quality, compliance and safeguarding.
- Complete daily, weekly or monthly reporting in line with the Authorised Program Officer (APO) role.
- **Understanding of the Workforce planning framework**:Development, implementation and continuous improvement of an organisation-wide workforce planning framework complementary policies, including NDIS Workforce Capability Framework.
- **Measurement and monitoring workforce: D**eveloping tools and KPIs to monitor and measure the framework's impact effectively.
- **Supporting resources**:Designing, developing and implementing supporting resources to assist leaders in operationalising the workforce planning framework, including guides, tools and training.
- Work with directors and managers to determine their needs and to gain their commitment to a range of People and Culture matters;
- Learn and utilise various HR software tools to enhance and streamline HR processes.

- Safeguards - ensuring our participants are aware of their rights, responding to feedback and that our staff are appropriately registered and are providing support in the least restrictive way
- Health & safety - support the organisation to provide services to maintain our staff and participants' health and safety.
- Risk Management & Compliance - maintaining accreditation and managing risk is essential, and we believe that focusing on the above goes a long way to ensuring this.
Key Selection Criteria
The Quality & Practice Manager is pivotal in providing training, coaching, support and advice across quality, safeguarding, practice and HR advice to Kind & Care Supports staff. The role will ensure the competency skills of our employees. The position will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering ongoing training and support to all employees, responding to operational training requirements, and being involved in care worker induction and work readiness. This role is critical in supporting the operations team to optimise service delivery across the region, ensuring all workers are skilled and competent.
- Responsible for the consistency and currency of Quality Management Systems used to ensure they are fit for purpose and comply with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines
- Establish systems to ensure service delivery quality standards are being met
- Ensure all organisational policies and procedures are created, understood and adhered to
- Support service and support specific policy, procedure and other documents creation as required

- Manage Quality registers and ensure actions are documented, followed and reviewed
