Our goal is to be the best energy transition utility, and we have an ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2045.In Australia, this includes flexible power generation, energy retail services for homes and businesses, advanced energy management solutions, and a growing portfolio of future-focused projects — from hydrogen and battery storage to wind and solar developments.About the RoleWe're seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of energy generation and battery projects from pre-delivery through to commercial operations.
This includes development, design, procurement, permitting, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover to operations.You'll be responsible for:Delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally within energy generation, battery storage, or related sectorsOverseeing project planning, scope, risk, and resource managementLeading and developing a high-performing project team through direction-setting, coaching, mentoring, and performance managementManaging stakeholder engagement, reporting, and project documentationEnsuring compliance with HSEQ and regulatory requirementsDriving project close-out and successful transition to operationsSupporting business development and contributing to strategic initiativesManaging budgets, schedules, and project resources across all phasesLeading assurance reviews and implementing solutions to mitigate risks and issuesLocation: Southbank, Melbourne or Pelican Point, AdelaideWork Mode: Hybrid – 4 days onsite/office, 1-day WFHTravel: Regular travel between Southbank and Pelican PointFlexibility is offered; however, the role requires presence at our Southbank office or Pelican Point site 4 days per week.
If based in Melbourne, regular travel to Adelaide is essential to collaborate with the project team.About YouYou're a qualified and experienced project leader with a strong background in energy infrastructure and a passion for delivering complex projects.A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldExtensive experience in construction project management, including large-scale, multi-disciplinary energy projects in the Australian marketDemonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing project teams, with strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilitiesDeep knowledge of conventional and renewable power generation technologies, and a strong understanding of Australian construction standards and regulatory frameworksExpertise in project planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and contract negotiationProficient in project management tools and systems (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, ERP platforms)A proactive, results-driven mindset with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environmentENGIE is an equal opportunity employer, promoting diversity and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all.
