**Position Information**:
Robert Townson High School (FOEI 124) services the communities of Raby, Bow Bowing, Varroville and St Andrews. Our school celebrates diversity, including approximately 30 students within our Hearing Impairment Unit as well as students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We have approximately 790 students with 42% of the school population from English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds and 50 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
We have been able to develop and maintain significantly positive partnerships with our local TAFEs, universities across Sydney, local historical and cultural institutions, businesses (particularly in the area of engagement and vocational education) along with other community groups. Within the local government areas there is a myriad of choice in the areas of Sports and Arts. This sees some of our students represent Robert Townson High School across the local and regional areas as well as occasionally across the State.
The Head Teacher Administration will manage daily organisation, including the hiring of casuals as well as contracts through SAP. They will lead whole school technology, including Sentral, manage examination timetables and rosters and supervise non-faculty and/or small faculty staff. They will be part of the executive structure managing student attendance and take a key role in managing assessment and reporting practices within the school, with oversight of NESA entries and processes.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- High level organisational skills, with the capacity to manage the day-to-day operations of a school including casual and temporary staff and associated pays and contracts, examination timetables and staff rosters.
- Capacity to utilise administrative systems such as SAP and to lead whole school technology processes and practices including the use of Sentral.
- Outstanding demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the school executive team to lead and contribute to whole school planning and strategic priorities.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders in the monitoring and support of student attendance.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
