We are seeking a Microbiology Analyst for a **6-month fixed-term contract**. In this role, you will support the Micro Control Program by following established sampling and testing schedules for finished products, raw materials, water, environmental samples, and compressed air/gas. You will also be responsible for media preparation and autoclave sterilisation within the microbiology laboratory.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Collect microbiological samples from finishing lines, registering and setting up testing for Celsis
- Operate the Celsis instrument, enter sample results into the micro log register, and notify the Plant Microbiologist of any failures
- Aseptically collect and test raw material samples according to specified procedures
- Collect and test water samples from the DI plant and points of use on a weekly basis
- Perform environmental monitoring, including testing swab samples, contact plates, and preparing equipment swab packs
- Conduct borescope visual inspections of filling lines as scheduled
- Carry out aseptic sampling and testing of IBC pallecons and WIP storage tanks as needed
- Collect air samples using SAS and Pinocchio air samplers in accordance with the monitoring schedule
- Prepare and dispense media, conduct autoclaving, set up sterility tests, and accurately maintain autoclave and calibration logs
- Autoclave and dispose of biological waste following all applicable protocols
- Organise and maintain laboratory consumables and stock rooms, informing the Plant Microbiologist when restocking is required
- Maintain high standards of lab documentation and records in accordance with Colgate expectations
- Participate in laboratory housekeeping, ensure a clean and tidy work environment, and comply with safety, PPE, and Code of Conduct practice
