Human Resources Business Partner

**About The Role**
- Due to exciting business growth at Whitehaven coal, we have an opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join the Whitehaven Coal People & Culture team.
- Reporting to the Project Manager - Human Resources this role can be based in either our Sydney or Brisbane office and will require regular travel to various sites. This role will be a maximum term position for up to 9 months.

This role works closely with the broader People & Culture team, employees and key business stakeholders.

**What You'll Do**
- As the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for partnering closely with the business to provide effective and timely human resources support and in particular to employees who will be joining the business through an acquisition process.
- This role requires a strong team player who can work with all levels of the business to provide an exceptional HR experience to our business.

The key focus of this role will be to answer queries from employees and leaders and work on projects and support the implantation of SuccessFactors.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to:

- Work in an acquisition environment to interpret policies and procedures, industrial instruments and legislation to provide accurate and consistent advice
- Get involved in the build and testing of SuccessFactors
- Work with the broader HR team to ensure a wide cover of support is available to the business.
- Act as the day-to-day contact for general HR enquires for employees and leaders who are about to join the business

**About You**
- True generalist HR Business Partner experience ideally within mining, heavy industry, or construction environments
- Acquisition experience preferable
- Experience and competence in using and supporting a HRIS (SuccessFactors)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships at all levels
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
- Strong team player, with the ability to work autonomously
- Thrives in fast-paced environment with managing competing priorities.
- Proactive and solutions focused approach with a high level of attention to detail
