Following extensive renovations, our home now offers modern comforts, bright and spacious rooms, homely accommodation for up to 81 residents, and welcoming communal spaces—creating a warm and supportive environment for both residents and staff.We are hiring all the roles in casual/part time/full time capacity and strongly encourage to apply.About the RoleWorking under the direction of the Facility Manager and Lifestyle Coordinator, this position is responsible for the person-centred implementation of leisure, lifestyle and therapy activities with the residents within the Aged Care Facility.
The functions of this position are to promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents, by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life.Duties and Responsibilities:Plans for and implements meaningful activity that recognizes resident preferences, including personally significant cultural and spiritual practices, to enhance and optimise their wellbeing.Follows residents' care plans in the provision of person-centred support during leisure, lifestyle and therapeutic activity.Supports residents to follow infection control and other relevant safety practices.Optimizes resident cooperation by actively building trusting relationships with individuals that are based on dignity and respect.Monitors for and reports deterioration of resident health and/or function.Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to organize and facilitate communal celebrations and other special events including fundraising activities.Skills, Attributes and ExperienceCompletion of Certificate IV Lifestyle and Leisure or Allied HealthDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated understanding of person-centred principles and the ability to engage people in meaningful activityDemonstrated understanding of the needs of people with dementia in relation to leisure and therapeutic activityPrevious experience working with people with dementiaFirst Aid Certificate (current)Valid Driver's Licence (Car)Working knowledge of WH&S legislation and practiceCulture and Benefits:A competitive industry salary package commensurate with skills and experience.Initially: accommodation available for successful applicant.
