As a pivotal member of Saab's Naval Combat Systems group, the Head of Product Software is responsible for driving the development and implementation of the Product Software team strategy aligned to Saab Australia's business strategy and software roadmap, together with a culture of accountability, high performance, collaboration and adaptability.
The role will provide strategic direction and leadership across the Product Software team to ensure successful planning, implementation and delivery of forecast pipeline software development work, in full, on time, and on budget.
As a member of the Product Group Senior Leadership Team, the role will contribute to the achievement of Product Groups strategic goals and taking active part in cross functional and global forums.
This role is also responsible for defining the methods, tools and processes for, the planning and continuous development of software within the Naval Combat Systems Product Group
**Your background**
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing large, high performing software programs, in a complex organization (the team size is circa 150 with 6 direct reports and forecast to grow to 200 in the coming 18 months).
- Demonstrated ability to define a vision, set a strategy and lead a team to successful implementation
- Collaborative leader and skilled communicator who can influence others to achieve common goals by engaging and developing robust and productive relationships across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment with multiple competing and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile methods and processes as well as an understanding of the lifecycle of large software development projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead leaders and large teams to foster a high performing function with a culture of coordination and integration within and between teams.
- Experience in producing and reviewing technical documentation.
- An understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle.
- Broad business acumen and experience in conceptualising long-term business goals and develop orderly process to accomplish those goals.
