**About the Opportunity**

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leads this permanent position has problem solving and challenges including the ability to accurately interpret complex work scopes, submarine systems and implement the task as outlined in the work pack and complete the work pack in accordance with CMS Process. Conducting work on a Collins Class Submarine has several challenges, confined space, incompatible operations and difficult working positions all of which need careful attention to detail when conducting tasks.

**Responsibilities**

The work consists of the following major components including:

- Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set to work and defect rectification of the Collins Class Submarines and the associated submarine systems.
- Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of trade and boat team leaders.
- Delivery of completed work packs to the appropriate trade team leader to support implementation and project close out in accordance with the "End to End" process.

**Essential Criteria**
- WA Electrical A Class Licence.
- Electrical trade certificate along with a strong commitment to safety.
- Sound communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Previous experience in shipbuilding, defence or heavy engineering (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in accurately interpret complex work scopes and implement the task as outlined in work packs.
- Experience with working in restricted areas and confined spaces.

**Eligibility**

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
