**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
In contributing to the overarching vision, the Executive Strategic Planner supports the development and implementation of the long term land use vision for the Cumberland area. This includes Cumberland City's planning controls, corridor and precinct plans, planning proposals, planning agreements, and strategic planning and land use advice. The Executive Strategic Planner will also contribute to the overall effective operation of the Environment and Planning Directorate.
The successful applicant will require:
- Degree in Town Planning or equivalent, with eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), and demonstrated ability to operate at a principal level
- Experience in mentoring and developing team members to ensure they perform planning tasks to the required standard and within the allocated timeframes
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written communication and presentation skills, and ability to effectively tailor communication on planning issues to different audiences
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, engage and present to a wide range of people - both internally and externally - to determine stakeholder issues and explain complex planning issues and concepts
- Proven ability to manage a number of complex projects with multiple stakeholders simultaneously, on time, within budget, and in response to competing pressures
- Class C driver's licence.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working 35 hours per week, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement and availability to flexible working arrangements.
This role is predominantly located at Council's Auburn office and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 13 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a negotiable salary of up to $129,715 per annum, plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
- Car Allowance of $10,733.06 per annum or option to select a leaseback vehicle is available, dependent on preference.
