**About the Role**
LOCATION: C L A Y F E I L D
** _The participant is a 39-year-old male that requires a sharp minded, male support worker. The participant has complex behaviors and would benefit from a support worker that is quick on their feet and able to 'read-the-room'._
- The participant has requested a support worker that is able to engage in activities of similar interests (e.g. arcades, gym, hikes etc.) and has CLEAR English communication abilities._
- Please note that the participant has multiple Mental Health Conditions that can cause him to act erratically - this participant has a history of becoming aggressive and violent when provoked. _
- Prompting/Encouraging participant to tend to his Personal Cares
- Prompting with medication
- Light household duties
- Redirection / de-escalation experience
- Maintain critical thinking and problem-solving abilities throughout shift
- Must be proactive and take initiative
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant's level of independence
- Great communication skills
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
- A passion for assisting individuals who struggle with a disability to improve their quality of life

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who holds a minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) **and/or** a minimum of 2 years of experience with Mental Health and the following qualities:

- Working with children card (Blue card)
- NDIS Worker Screening check (Yellow Card)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Current Police Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Driver's License
- Registered personal vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and a willingness to use for transporting clients (when required)

**Additionally, you will need**:

- Clear _Verbal and Written_ Communication
- Critical thinking with the ability to problem solve - knows how to take initiative
- Have a basic understanding of Mental Health
- Experience with Mental Health _(not essential, but highly desired)_

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
