Key responsibilities

1. Support the development and provide positive guidance to each child in the group by
- Planning and implementing hands on activities that promote all areas of children's development for individuals and whole group.
- Plan and implement culturally appropriate experiences
- Use and promote positive guidance techniques that promote respect and dignity for each child
- Encouraging children's independence
- Actively allowing parents to participate in a way they are comfortable with.

2. Design appropriate environments to support the goals of the group including
- Promoting and practicing healthy practices with children
- Maintaining a safe environment for children and staff through
- Use of resources to support children's development.
- 2004 DOCS regulations
- Accreditation principles
- Code of ethics
- OH&S policies
- Centre policies

Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings and parent interviews, social events, excursions and professional

4. Reporting and accountability
- Organise, supervise and maintain child development records and prepare a weekly program based on the emergent needs of children which will be available to the director, parents and DOCS at all times. Such documents are the property of the centre and should remain at the centre at all times.

5. Staff issues
- To develop a co operative relationship with all members of staff, to ensure a smoothly operating centre, and consistency caring, secure and active environment for all the centre's community.
- To support, respect and encourage staff development
- Promote team approach with staff by encouraging openness and tolerance between colleagues, accepting staff rights to hold different points of view, maintain confidentially and encourage constructive methods of conflict resolution.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
