Job Description
The Senior Project Engineer will oversee the daily execution of high-quality construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring timely completion and adherence to documented specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing comprehensive project schedules and communicating them to the team.
Project delivery from inception to completion, encompassing all aspects of construction management.
Maintaining and enforcing strict adherence to construction programs, emphasizing quality outcomes within set timeframes.
IDentifying and effectively managing risk throughout all projects, escalating concerns when necessary.
Overseeing project expenditures and cash flow to ensure smooth financial operations.
Managing external engineering design aspects of projects, ensuring seamless integration with internal processes.
Effective design management practices are crucial in maintaining project efficiency.
Oversight of subcontractors on site, guaranteeing compliance with company standards.
Proper maintenance and implementation of HSEQ requirements across all projects.
Providing regular progress reports to stakeholders.
Delivering exceptional client experiences through proactive engagement and clear communication.
Qualifications and Requirements
This position demands a strong combination of skills and qualifications. Key requirements include:
Tertiary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.
No less than 8 years of experience in delivering projects from start to finish, preferably with a builder/head contractor.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, focusing on building and motivating teams towards shared goals.
In-depth knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements/standards.
Strong proficiency in project financial reporting, using tools such as Excel to track expenses.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Adept interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, leveraging technology to streamline project operations.
