Provides expert technical assistance and directs training and orientation of personnel.
Schedules, assigns, reviews and evaluates section personnel; reviews work of section personnel to insure technical quality and timeliness.
Establishes, maintains and monitors quality control/quality assurance, instrument/equipment, maintenance program at standards that meet or exceed requirements of variety of licensing and accrediting agencies and organizations.Formal Education RequiredAssociate degree in Biology, Chemistry or closely related field of study.Experience & Training RequiredHTL or HT Certification with a minimum of two (2) years of related histopathology experience.
(Preferred)ORNon-certified candidates with a minimum of four (4) years of related histopathology experience.Other Skills, Competencies And QualificationsAbility to communicate effectively in written and oral fashion with laboratory and hospital staff, physicians, and vendors.Ability to work effectively with laboratory and hospital staff, coordinate work activities and direct work of others.Ability to work, communicate, and make sound decisions in stress situations involving hospital staff and/or non-hospital staff such as patients, visitors, personnel from other hospitals, municipal authorities, etc.Ability to evaluate technical quality and timeliness of work produced in section and resolve technical, procedural, instrument or equipment problems.Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
Demonstrates interest and willingness to learn and develop personnel and management skills.Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.Level Of Physical DemandsMedium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled$28.58/hr - $34.30/hrThe salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
