Powering retail innovation, we provide strategy and process development services and data science software solutions to help retailers optimise their performance and leverage data effectively in their day-to-day decision-making.

We partner with our clients to deliver tailored solutions that turn complex data into high-value, easy to implement solutions across a range of retail topics with a primary focus on store space optimisation and rangedesign and management.

We currently operate from offices in Melbourne and London to support a growing number of leading retailers in Australia, Asia and Europe. We have an ambitious growth agenda and are keen to expand our team with highly skilled and passionate individuals to help us deliver great value for our clients and support our development plans.

As the Commercial & Reporting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in reporting, and analysing financial and other business data to provide valuable insights to support Scalene business decision making.

Role responsibilities include:

- Conducting financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Financial and other management reporting, analysis and modelling to support business initiatives.
- Monitoring key financial metrics and identifying trends or areas for improvement.
- Preparing and presenting financial reports to management team
- Supporting the implementation and improvement of systems and processes and partner with the business
- Assisting with general finance, accounting and analysis support

Skills and experience required:

- Proven experience in finance environment with knowledge of, financial analysis techniques, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ability to interpret and synthesize disparate data sets and build insightful dashboards
- Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to simplify messages and actions for stakeholders
- Flexible with an adaptable and proactive approach
- Self-motivated with a strong use of initiative to identify and capture opportunities for improvement across the business
