We are seeking a dedicated Water Quality Technician to play a vital role in our mission to produce high-quality, healthy prawns.In this hands-on role, you will be the onsite expert for our innovative automatic water quality monitoring systems.
You will report directly to the local Farm Manager for day-to-day operations and receive technical support from our centralised team in Proserpine.
This position is crucial for supporting farm performance and requires a reliable, resilient individual committed to safety and excellence.Responsibilities:Conduct daily water quality sampling and analysis, including microalgae and phytoplankton identificationOperate, monitor, and maintain our cutting-edge automatic water quality monitoring systems.Monitor and interpret analytics, graphs, and system alarms via computer and iPad.Execute the farm's water quality strategy to optimise prawn health and growth.Maintain accurate records and reporting for water quality metrics.Uphold the highest standards of workplace health and safety at all times.Perform general farm duties and tasks as required to support site operations.Role requirements:Commitment to working in a physically demanding prawn farming environment.Proficient computer and iPad skills for data monitoring and reporting.Reliable, resilient, and flexible with a strong commitment to safety.Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.A current driver's licence (a forklift licence is highly advantageous).
