**Role Description/Criteria**
Come work with us - About us
Come and join our team of motivated, committed, compassionate, and dedicated teachers and staff at St Anthony's Primary school, Melton South. We are a large Catholic Primary school comprising of 28 classes across Foundation to year 6.
St. Anthony's Primary School is committed to building a community of faith, hope and love in the light of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to provide learning environments that empower students to be active learners. We implement evidence-based, high-impact practices designed to ensure our students flourish not only within our community but within a world of continual change.
Our staff are provided with ongoing professional learning opportunities on evidence-based practices and our current provisionally registered teachers follow a structured program which scaffolds their working towards achieving full teacher registration.
We pride ourselves on pastoral care for our students, staff and families and support our staff across both Wellbeing and Learning and Teaching through coaching, mentoring, additional classroom support and facilitated planning in teams.
We have a full-time psychologist and provide literacy and numeracy intervention across years Foundation to Three.
Our students in years 4-6 have a 1:1 device and digital portfolios along with 3 way conversations and learning walks complement our semester reporting on student progress. Our language program is newly commenced in 2024 and all staff are involved in the teaching and learning of Auslan following the TCL (Teachers as Co-Learners) model.
We have many other wonderful initiatives at our school that our students and staff love to participate in. With the help of our Year 4 students, we have a program called Nourish and Flourish, where learning and student wellbeing blend beautifully to form a student-led Café. Each Friday, our Year 4 students cook fresh and exciting food to serve the school community, including parents, friends, staff and classrooms. With nearly one hundred people visiting the Café each week it is certainly buzzing with barista-made coffee, jazz tunes and a strong sense of self-efficacy.
Under the Nourish and Flourish banner, we also provide a twice-weekly breakfast and aerobics program. Students can choose to have a dance at aerobics, or they can fill their tummies with toast, fruit, and milk.
We are also excited to see our community garden come to life this year. Our garden will include a prayer space, natural Australian plants, fruit trees and chickens The garden space will be looked after by our gardening club consisting of students from foundation to year 6.
We work hard to ensure that all student's needs are catered for outside as well as in the classroom with a variety of clubs that students can enjoy. These include choir, bug club, dance club, knitting club, art club, and at different times of the year ukulele club, drumming club, basketball, football, cricket and netball club.
St Anthony's community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. We strive to maintain a child safe and inclusive environment where each child feels safe.
