You'll be part of a highly skilled team performing third-level application and system support for the Defence environment as part of the Centralised Processing (CP) program. This position involves managing Citrix solutions and supporting project work across a broad spectrum of technologies.
The team works an on-call roster, covering early/late shifts from 7 am to 7 pm weekdays.
Your New Role and Responsibilities
The Citrix System Administrator performs activities involving standard procedures for Citrix Systems, requiring familiarity and expertise with a broad field of Systems Engineering. Responsibilities include:
Monitor Citrix Environment Health: Use tools like Citrix Director, Citrix Analytics, ControlUp, SolarWinds, or PRTG to track system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage, and session statistics.
Troubleshoot Citrix Issues: Diagnose and resolve login problems, session slowness, and application crashes by analyzing logs and alerts.
Optimize Performance: Fine-tune policies, load balancing, and resource allocation; recommend infrastructure improvements.
Support Capacity Planning: Monitor trends to forecast resource needs and assist in scaling the environment.
Ensure Security and Compliance: Maintain secure access and monitor for unauthorized activity.
What You'll Bring to Make an Impact
Experience in complex Citrix Virtual Applications and Desktops (CVAD) environments as a System Administrator/Engineer.
Proficiency in administering, configuring, and monitoring multi-domain Citrix environments over WAN.
Operational support experience, with technical project involvement.
Experience in planning and executing Citrix initiatives like upgrades, third-party solutions, and integrations.
Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols.
