At Takeda, the Ethics & Compliance department (E&C) demonstrates ethical behaviour consistent with Takeda's values, encourages accountability, and supports ethical risk-based decision making. E&C commits to being agile and responsive to the business needs.
We are seeking an Ethics & Compliance Specialist to support the Head of Ethics & Compliance deliver the full spectrum of the E&C Program, from cultural change initiatives through to the technical responsibilities of monitoring, transparency, and governance. The E&C Specialist will:
- Deliver Transparency Reporting in accordance with the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and Medicines New Zealand Code of Practice, including the creation, verification and validation of data, and report submission. Implement process improvement as necessary, including automation, system enhancements, and training.
- Deliver the Oceania LOC Monitoring Program to ensure compliance with required SOPs, including attendance at live monitoring activities (whether virtual or in person).
- Support, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the E&C Program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct in the Oceania LOC.
- Identify compliance vulnerability and risk; support development of corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Drive awareness of E&C program activities, training, and resources through organisational communication channels.
- Provide support to the Privacy Officer by advising Oceania LOC on appropriate actions under Australian legislation, especially the Privacy Act (1988).
- Support the Head of E&C to implement the Takeda Values Ambassadors in embedding the corporate philosophy and drive corporate values across the organisation.
**Critical knowledge and experience**:
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience in the Ethics & Compliance function within the pharmaceutical industry. Particularly understanding the pressures, complexities and priorities of a multinational pharmaceutical subsidiary.
- Tertiary education in a relevant field (e.g. governance, ethics, or legal); or commensurate experience.
- Knowledge of industry codes of conduct in force in Oceania, and the practical implementation of the requirements therein.
- Previous experience with submitting transparency reporting for Medicines Australia, including the preparation of reports and validation of data.
- Experience with internally focused monitoring and assurance processes. Participation in live monitoring advantageous.
- Experience with risk management frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills, with an attention to detail imperative.
