**About the Role**:
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the HSE Functional Services team in the role of Principal HSE supporting WA Major Projects. Reporting to the Superintendent HSE WA Major Projects, this role will provide Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) functional support for the Nickel West (NiW) Kalgoorlie Smelter Renewal Project (KSR).
The role is a permeant role and will require some regular travel to site.
**In this role you will**:
- Build capability within WA Major Projects leaders to enable them to create the desired health, safety and environment culture, and enact their HSE risk management and compliance requirements
- Provide HSE input to the design and establishment of HSE standards, procedures and systems for WA Major Projects within the Minerals Australia Projects Framework and Internal Standard.
- Review project design specification to ensure HSE risks and controls are identified and captured with Project design.
- Support with the embedment of the BHP field leadership program throughout the WA Major Projects portfolio
- Deliver coaching for line management on the quality and effectiveness of HSE risk assessments, event investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure provision of technical expertise and deliverables of environment, health, hygiene and safety requirements to WA Major Projects and key contractor partner leaders
- Provide leadership, support and technical guidance including HSE resource planning to Project Development teams.
- Develop and deliver relevant HSE content for upskilling of project owner's teams and contractor personnel.
- Facilitate the communication between workgroups to ensure consistency in HSE systems, processes, procedures and goals
**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A proven passion for HSE and building a culture of care, with the ability to influence different levels of leadership.
- Tertiary degree in relevant field (e.g. engineering, science, risk, other) and relevant HSE focused design experience.
- Typically minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience (Major Capital Projects, Minerals Processing/Industrial Construction/Oil and Gas).
- Have strong communication and engagement skills, ability to adapt to suit target audience.
- Demonstrated ability to reliably deliver team results and meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify and lead complex change through vision setting and the effective execution of change management processes.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with both senior internal and external stakeholders. Influence diverse teams.
