The role you could play
- Provide spiritual and pastoral care, encouraging people to explore their spirituality and move forward on their personal faith journey. This includes effectively engaging clients in one-on-one pastoral or spiritual conversations, group work, mentoring and provision of access to religious literature
- Provide a pastoral response, in conjunction with specialist formal debriefing, to those impacted by critical incidents
- Relevant programs are provided, including Positive Lifestyle Program and spiritual-based teaching
- Connect clients to the local corps or another faith community of their choice
- Coordinate and conduct religious services
What you will bring- Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army and previous or current chaplaincy experience or relevant experience in a similar position
- Experience working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and communities
- A Diploma of Chaplaincy is required and training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and /or theological studies; and PLP Facilitator training (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid and current Driver's Licence
- A Working with Children/Vulnerable people check is required
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
