Exceptional candidates are attracted to Summa because of its culture, dedication to excellent patient service, commitment to servant leadership, collegial relationships, and competitive pay and benefits.Position: Speech / Language PathologistType: PRN / As NeededLocation: Akron City CampusSummary: Evaluates, develops treatment plans, and administers medically prescribed Speech Language Cognition and/or Dysphagia programs, following professional guidelines from ASHA, Ohio state regulations, and Summa Health standards.Minimum Qualifications:Master's Degree in Speech / Language PathologyCurrent Ohio licensure in Speech / Language PathologyCurrent BLS (CPR) certification through the American Heart AssociationInpatient SLP: Competency in video fluoroscopic and FEES evaluations or ability to become proficient within one year.Registration with the Ohio Board for supervised clinical practice during the Clinical Fellowship YearActive participation in professional organizations (preferred)Additional Skills and Competencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with diverse patient populations with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivityPhysical ability to meet job demands, including lifting and standing for extended periodsWillingness to advocate for patients with various disabilitiesFlexibility to rotate through different treatment areas as neededCommitment to service excellence and professional standardsComplete annual competency requirements and minimum patient care coverage (PRN)Physical Demands:Ability to exert force, handle and lift patients and equipment, stand, walk, squat, climb stairs, and perform other physical activities required in a clinical setting.Work environment may expose staff to communicable diseases and hazardous substances.Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / DisabledSalary Range: $35.09 / hr - $42.11 / hrThe listed salary range is base pay, excluding bonuses or differentials.
