Waverley Social Enterprise (WSE) is a Supported Employment provider with a reputation for combining a caring culture with a strong commercial focus on providing practical support for participants.

Employing 330 adults with a disability and 60 staff across two sites, this social enterprise generates revenue exceeding $12 million.

As a key leader in the Executive Management Team, you inspire staff in the areas of packaging, catering and environmental with a focus on production, warehousing and QA.

1. JOB PURPOSE

The Group Production Manager is an executive management role that is critical in the development, implementation and review of the Production Strategy. The Production Strategy is produced in line with our corporate vision and values of RESPECT. Their responsibility is to ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work in line with our company values of Recognition, Easy to do business with, Service, Positivity, Excellence, Collaboration, Trust.
- Profit and Loss responsibility for Production.
- Utilise Strategic Skills to drive Production Strategy. Creating and driving Objectives, Goals, Strategy and Measures (Strategic Plan).
- Build Engagement and Ownership. Maximise engagement levels by inspiring ownership and accountability. Utilising organisational tools such as Personal Development Plan (PDP), Engagement Workshops and HR Partnering to maximise participation.
- Process Excellence. Utilise the principles of Continuous Improvement (CI), to drive production, warehouse and quality efficiencies. Ensure we have appropriate efficient production, warehouse and quality systems in place to meet stakeholder requirements.
- High Performance Culture. Rigorous attention to innovation through participation and feedback. Utilising the values to inspire 360-degree feedback.
- OH&S across Production locations, ensuring optimal safety levels are achieved and compliance to relevant codes and regulations are achieved. Management Member of OH&S Committee, driving a culture of safety awareness, looking for continuous improvement, training and retraining for any breaches in OH&S procedures.
- Meticulous attention to KPIs within the appropriate teams and driving a proactive CI approach in view of these.
- Per Profit and Loss, taking close attention to cost drivers and implementing improvements to optimise these.
- Regularly update the Executive Management Team of current successes, challenges, metric and developmental updates.
- Ensuring the implementation and monitoring of Quality Management System throughout the operations of the Packaging Division. Maintenance of appropriate accreditations (e.g. ISO9001: 2015).
- Broad and overarching knowledge of 6 National Standards for Disability Services. These are essential for future funding to the organisation.
- Ensuring the Production teams are appropriately utilising contract (outsource) labour in line with organisational strategy and budgets.

6. JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS (ie education, experience, behavioural)
- Previous General Management / Production Experience (minimum 5+ years)
- High Level Strategic Skills. Able to read the macro and microenvironments accurately then plan, implements and reviews accordingly.
- High Level People and Communication Skills that stimulates engagement and ownership within the organisation.
- Inspirational and Motivating Leader that challenges status quo and can solve complex issues decisively.
- Strong collaboration skills at all levels of the organisation.
