**The Position**
- Position Title: Tradesman's Assistant - Maintenance
- Classification: SR8
- Salary per hour (exc. super): Dependant on experience
- Hours per fortnight: 76
- Employment Status: Ongoing Full-time
- Other requirements: COVID-19 Vaccination

**Role Description**
- The Tradesman's Assistant is required to assist other tradespersons to maintain Bendigo Health services situated within the properties of Bendigo Health to ensure its proper working order in accordance with Australian Standards, State and Local Government Regulations and Bendigo Health Quality Assurance Programs.
- The position is required to participate in the development and maintenance of a safe and effective environment for the patients and staff of Bendigo Health and the general public.

**The Team**
- The Finance and Resources Division is responsible for financial functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and analysis, together with our procurement, materials management and facilities management functions. The division also includes Health Information Services with key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, and external data reporting requirements. These are essential non-clinical services providing high-quality support, advice, monitoring and compliance functions. The team are focussed on delivering the strategic vision within their responsibilities and on assisting the organisation operationally.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Demonstrate 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Essential : Previous experience in the trades industry
- Essential : Demonstrated skills, knowledge and aptitude in basic maintenance and repair of plant and equipment
- Essential : Previous health service experience highly desirable
- Essential : Understanding of legislation applicable to the trades industry (such as the OH&S Act 2004).
- Desirable : Communication and interpersonal skills to confidently and clearly convey information in a concise and clear manner and is polite and considerate in the dealings with others.
- Desirable : Punctual, self-motivated and leads by example.
- Desirable : Professional presentation both written and verbally
