As Advocacy Manager at Transgrid, you'll play a vital role in shaping how we engage with governments, regulators, and key stakeholders - ensuring our commercial and customer-focused strategies are well understood and supported in a fast-moving sector.This newly created role will drive a proactive advocacy agenda, influence policy and regulatory outcomes, and help position Transgrid as a trusted partner in the energy transition.Lead strategic engagement with government departments, regulators, and industry bodiesBuild influential relationships and craft clear, impactful messages on complex issuesProvide expert advice on emerging policy, market, and regulatory trendsSupport cross-functional collaboration across Networks, Emerging Projects, and Government RelationsAbout YouAt Transgrid, our core values - Safety, Achievement, Integrity, and Service - are at the heart of everything we do.
Our team lives and breathes these values every day, and we look forward to welcoming new colleagues who share the same commitment.We're looking for a proactive and strategic professional with strong government networks and experience navigating complex regulatory environments.You'll BringTertiary qualifications in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Communications, or a related field7+ years' experience in government relations, stakeholder engagement, or policy advocacy - ideally within energy, infrastructure, or regulatory sectorsA proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholdersExcellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and prepare clear, compelling briefing notes and submissionsA strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate policy trends, assess commercial impacts, and align internal stakeholders around key advocacy positionsExperience in crisis management or public affairsA solid understanding of the energy industry and regulatory frameworksStrong networks across government, financial services, or policy environmentsRecognition & RewardAt Transgrid, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on Australia's clean energy future.
