**About the role**

Due to ongoing growth, this is a newly created position. As the Junior Purchasing Officer, you will be part of the NSW Purchasing team who is responsible for coordinating and managing all raw materials, buy in and stocked products as well as ordering consumables for use across the business.

The Purchasing team is solution orientated and works closely with our suppliers and other departments to ensure our customer's orders are delivered in full, on time and to specification. The role requires a person who is efficient, well organised with good time management and people skills. As a part of the Purchasing team, you will need to possess good negotiation skills, attention to detail & accuracy, and good computer skills.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Obtain and process quotations.
- Generate purchase orders.
- Expedite outstanding orders with suppliers to ensure our customer orders are delivered in full and on time.
- Monitor and maintain accuracy of inventory using various reports and regular cycle counts.
- Participate in stocktakes.
- Review and administer supplier cost updates
- Undertake general administration duties.

**About you**
- Someone who is in the process of completing or already obtained qualifications in a Purchasing or Supply Chain course.
- Previous experience in working for a steel building or home improvement company would be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
- Excellent written & verbal communication, including a professional phone manner.
- Proven ability to provide solutions and think outside the box.
- Well organised with good time management and people skills.
- Strong negotiation skills, with attention to detail & accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
