OverviewThe Squiz product team is delivering a cloud-based Digital Experience Platform (DXP) with capabilities in Content Management, Optimisation tooling, and Platform services.
We are looking for 2 x Technical Lead/Principal Engineer to bring senior capability, help fast-track the roadmap, and deliver key capabilities.This is a hands-on role: you'll be deep in the code every day while guiding architecture, shaping technical direction, and mentoring the team.Stack: TypeScript end-to-end, React on the front end, Node on the back end, running on AWS, with a strong focus on backend engineering.You will combine leadership influence with practical coding to deliver ambitious projects at pace.This role is hybrid: Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.
6-month contract.
Daily rate or fixed-term options available.ResponsibilitiesLead technical direction and collaborate with teams while staying hands-on in coding.Design, develop, and maintain large-scale software products from concept to production.Contribute to architecture decisions, ensuring scalable and robust solutions in the DXP tech stack (TypeScript, React, Node, AWS).
Implement and promote testing strategies and secure coding practices (OWASP).
Work within Agile environments (Scrum; some Kanban).
Mentor engineers and help grow the capability of the team.QualificationsProven hands-on experience in technical leadership, guiding teams and shaping solutions while actively coding.Full-stack software engineering experience building and maintaining large-scale products from concept to production.Must have experience with the DXP tech stack: TypeScript, React, Node, AWS.Strong understanding of testing principles and experience implementing testing strategies.Experience with Agile or iterative development methodologies (Scrum; Kanban).
Strong understanding of secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP).
Nice to haveKnowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) or Digital Experience Platforms (DXP).
