**What you'll be doing**:
As an Outsourced Operations Manager, you will work within a specialist team who is responsible for providing leadership, expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders to enable the safe, efficient and effective operational delivery of Virgin Australia's customer strategy, across our Regional Airports. You will be responsible for operational outcomes across a portfolio of West Australian Airports, including VA Group Ground Operations in Perth.

This position is based at Perth Airport (Terminal 1D) and you will work under the direction of the Head of Airports - Regional & International. The role will involve frequent travel within Western Australia, as well as occasional visits to the Virgin Australia head office in Brisbane.

As an Outsourced Operations Manager, you will:

- Ensure the best commercial and operational results are achieved with a critical focus on safety and ultimate customer experience outcomes
- Work with contracted Ground Handlers and airport authorities, to deliver exceptional outcomes
- Manage operational outcomes against set contractual KPIs, both independently and in collaboration with the Commercial Partnerships Manager
- Effectively and professionally communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including executive and senior leadership teams
- Execute adequate and appropriate response to business risks, including safety occurrences, OTP (On Time Performance), business resilience, and customer service delivery requirements.
- Work to inspire safe work cultures within Ground Handling agencies, lead and own all safety related events and ensure compliance to Virgin Australia's Safety Management Systems.

Perth specific requirements:
Operational oversight and responsibility for all Virgin Australia Group ground operations at Perth Airport.
- Own key stakeholder relationships with Virgin Australia Airlines, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA), Perth Airport (PAPL), ground handler/s and represent Virgin Australia at all required forums and meetings that support airport operations
- Lead all airport related projects to ensure Virgin Australia operational requirements are considered
- Manage the operational impacts for Virgin Australia during the implementation of new aircraft including B737 Max and 700 series aircraft, to minimise impact to customer experience and ensure safety is a priority
- Develop and embed relevant business continuity strategies to ensure seamless airport operations during any significant events
- Lead and implement all required change management activities
- Identify and implement synergies to strengthen all aspects of our partnership with Virgin Australia Regional Airlines

**This is a 12 month contract, with the potential for extension.**

**Who we're looking for**:

- Strong and demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement across multiple organisations such as ground handlers, airport authorities, government agencies and regulators
- Experience with SMS frameworks and in aviation Safety & Security management
- Proven time management skills to manage multiple and at times conflicting priorities whilst delivering strong outcomes
- Experience in conducting business analysis and making detailed recommendations to positively impact customer, operational, safety and commercial outcomes
- Awareness of domestic and international airport Regulatory environments
- A great team player who is inspirational, self-motivated and highly professional. Have emotional intelligence with the ability to read, monitor and understand behaviours and respond effectively to affect positive outcomes
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and learn quickly in evolving environments
- Ability to travel regularly and at short notice, both interstate and internationally as required
