Senior Test Analyst (Cyber Security)
Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.

Overview
CSIRO is seeking a Senior Test Analyst (Cyber Security) to lead quality assurance across a portfolio of cyber security initiatives in CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team.
You will plan, execute and report on functional, regression, system, security and integration testing to ensure solutions are secure, reliable and aligned with CSIRO's cyber resilience objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead Testing Activities: Oversee and manage functional, regression, system, integration, and cyber security testing activities, ensuring thorough and effective validation of software against security requirements and threat models.
Cyber Security Test Design: Develop and execute test cases and scenarios focused on security, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, secure code reviews, and compliance validation.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement detailed plans describing, explaining, and scheduling the anticipated testing approach, including security testing strategies aligned with risk management and strategic goals.
Reporting: Produce comprehensive test reports in tandem with product releases, including security test findings, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations for stakeholders.
Capability Building: Build the capability of test analysts, providing mentorship and guidance in security testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Innovation and Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging adoption of best practices in functional and security testing.
Collaboration: Work with cross-disciplinary teams, including testers, developers, business analysts, infrastructure specialists, cyber security professionals, data librarians, and managers, to ensure cohesive collaboration.

Location: Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane preferred; all Australian Capital cities considered.
Salary: AU$114,219 - AU$123,605 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

What you will need
Extensive experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in testing software applications, including at least 2 years in cyber security testing, with relevant IT qualifications or equivalent experience.
Advanced knowledge: Demonstrated advanced knowledge and extensive experience in testing techniques, including security testing approaches such as vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and secure code review.
Comprehensive testing expertise: Experience across functional, system integration, regression, and security testing, both as a sole tester and within a team.
Cyber security certification: Possession of or progress toward a recognised certification such as CISSP (preferred); CEH or OSCP (desirable).
Agile-Scrum proficiency: Experience working in an Agile-Scrum environment, including secure development practices.
Superior communication skills: Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with staff and clients at all levels, including cyber security stakeholders.
Agile ceremonies experience: Backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review and retrospective, with understanding of integrating security into Agile workflows.
Desirable
Experience testing both front-end and back-end web applications
Focus on discovery and access of research data
High-throughput requirements for relational and file-based data processing
Eligibility

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
Appointment may be subject to a national police check and other security/medical/character requirements.
